Projects - Tanzania

ELCT - Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania.
The provision of 212 PCs in 2004 and 60 more in 2005 have been for use in the 13 different hospitals run by ELCT. This was done in collaboration with Cordaid in The Hague (The Netherlands). Besides software and hardware, CFD has been able to organise a volunteer programme and internship programme for the capacity support within the various hospitals.
The project is part of ELCT Managed Health Care and Mission for Essential Medical Supplies. The project is aimed at improving the utilization of information in hospitals in Tanzania. A few laptops were also provided for use especially where there are power failures. Together with Ex-change, CFD will ensure the placement of interns at the ELCT project to help cope with the work and training needed in the areas of training, maintenance and support of hardware. See report (.pdf file) for more information on this project.
