FOR Requirements

Donation requirements and  procedure

To enable a simple procedure, Computers FOR Development has donation requirements to be met by donors in order to ensure efficiency and uniformity.

FOR companies -  Companies that choose to put in a donation offer can use the online donation form on this website. The donation form includes all the essential information (company, contact and pick-up details, details about the IT equipment, etc.) that Computers FOR Development requires to start the procedure. The information is evaluated by our Project Management Team, who will get in touch with the contact persons to organise the pick-up/logistics.

Donation requirements - Computers FOR Development mainly accepts donations from companies. Companies usually donate more uniform IT equipment (e.g. a larger number of computers from the same brand and with the same specifications), which helps Computers FOR Development in furnishing its projects with a specification-uniform IT network. This also helps with the overall management and maintenance of the project’s network.

Companies tend to replace entire IT networks at once, which means donations are larger. This allows Computers FOR Development to minimise the overhead cost per unit (transport, administration, refurbishing, etc.) by handling large numbers of units simultaneously. For these reasons, donations are limited to at least two euro pallets of IT equipment (about 20 computers, incl. monitors) per collection. Since Computers FOR Development engages itself to only provide the highest quality computers to its beneficiaries, the minimum specifications for computers are set to PIII and higher only from companies.

FOR individuals: Computers FOR Development accepts donations from individuals if they are delivered to the refurbishing centre. The donor has to call and announce the delivery in advance because these computers will be stored in different locations before taken to Da Vinci college for testing. Please e-mail for information on where to deliver the hardware. The minimum specifications as above apply for private donors.

FOR Reporting – Upon pick up or delivery, the donor receives a full status report, including data erasure certificates and possible disposal certificates. Once the IT equipment has been allocated to one or more projects, the enterprise will also receive donation reports, which specify where and how the IT equipment will be deployed.

Thank you for the donations!
